How We'll Get it Done

Improving & Increasing the Network, Accessibility, & Service of the ASUC to Student Organizations

I. For Communities

(a) Provide long-term resources (financial reserves, spaces allocations, etc.) to organizations dedicated to serving marginalized communities, not just when the political times call for it

(b) Keep accountability of the ASUC by proactively meeting with student organizations affected by spaces in Eshleman, MLK, MLK Lower Basement, and Anna Head and prioritize community needs and wants, understanding the privileges and capacity that the ASUC has in serving the student body

II. For Registered Student Organizations

(c) Advocacy for improvement in policies affecting RSOs by bringing student leaders into the room with administration (i.e., room reservation policies, major event policies, registration/signatory status and capacities)

(d) Publish RSO funding opportunities in adjacent to the Office of the President’s increase in funding initiatives

(e) Proactively reach out to student organizations with resources that the ASUC provides (i.e., cooperating with AAVP to publicize and ensure exposure of grants and scholarships, making room reservation procedures easier, Eshleman spaces utilization, etc.)

Partnerships & Sponsorships with Local Businesses

(a) Increase of sponsorships and partnerships with local businesses (Imperfect Produce, Trader Joe’s, Safeway, Walgreens, etc.) formed before and during Senate term

(b) Basic Needs Security through increase in affordability & accessibility of foods, basic living and school necessities, etc.

(c) Continuation of Food Vouchers Program (EOP qualifying students can receive $80 monthly for food at local businesses like Trader Joe’s and Safeway; over 48% of campus qualify for EOP) started during Senate term

Accountability & Feasibility of the ASUC through Project Pipelines

(a) Institutionalize programming that ensures current projects from ASUC officials will carry on to the next generation of officials and be completed by the development of mandated conferences, workshops, and facilitations throughout the academic year

(b) Maintain accountability of all ASUC officials on their projects, by making sure they follow through and transfer their incomplete projects to a potential successor or continuing member of the ASUC within their office; long-term projects can be institutionalized in respective Executive & Appointed Offices

(c) Oversee project pipelines for any overlaps between offices & form collaborations by meeting with ASUC offices one-on-one
